Here Comes Summer!

Since school has been over for Elkin we've been keeping busy! Here's a few pictures to let you know what we've been up to.

Memorial Day weekend we went to The Great American Barbecue Festival with Grandma & Grandpa. We had a great time eating barbecue (of course!), riding some carnival rides and listening to music.

Elkin really enjoyed the shaved ice while we listened to music.



It was a long, hot day and Elkin told us in his not-so-subtle way that he was done and ready to go home.



We've been spending a lot of time at the library the last few weeks and I imagine we will be frequent visitors as the days get hotter! Elkin and Mami went to the summer reading kick-off party where Elkin did some crafts and got his face painted. What did he choose? A car of course!



We broke out the pool for the first time! Elkin was thrilled to see it! The water was freezing but he had a great time. He seems to still love the pool now as much as he did in Colombia!

So Elkin acted like a robot in the pool...



Growled like a dinosaur at his beach ball...



and spent a lot of time just chillin'.



So writing this post really makes me think of that refreshing pool in Monteria.

Awwww... they grow up so fast! :)

Last Day of School & Summer Haircut

Elkin's last day of preschool was on Thursday... a sad day for Elkin because he LOVES to go to school.

On his last day of school, his class went to a local farm where they played games, had a picnic, and even rode horses!



Considering school is over we figured it was time for a summer haircut. (OK, his hair is completely unmanageable and we needed a break!)
