Hopeful for Birth Certificate and Passport Today

If things go well, we'll have Elkin's new birth certificate in hand in the next hour or so and then we can go get his passport. That's all we need to head to Bogotá.

We checked flights and realistically, if everything goes as planned today, we can leave for Bogotá in the morning and get started on the US Embassy stuff in the afternoon.

Wish us luck!

Good news for you guys! We are kinda concerned about the strike. We leave in two days and are a bit on edge. We were told that they have worked everything out except getting paid the month that they were out...
We'll let you know what we decide..
Maybe we can see you in Bogota if we come!

Joanyett - We read the paper (El Tiempo) several times a day and, at least according to the automatic translator we're using, the strike is absolutely not over. We have gotten no impression whatsoever that they've worked anything out yet.

Joanyett - that's just our perspective though so don't postpone your trip solely on that comment!
