Paperwork, Paperwork, and more Paperwork!

We've been so busy filling out paperwork that we forgot to update the blog to tell you we're filling out paperwork! We've been getting fingerprinted and collecting all sorts of documents for our home study. A home study is required by the state to prove that we are able to provide a loving home for our future child. It's a collection of documents and a series of interviews with a social worker that ends with a home visit from the social worker. When our home study is finished it will be included in our dossier which is the big group of documents that Colombia will review and (hopefully!) approve us for a referral. We are anxious to get the dossier to Colombia because after they approve (which takes 5-6 months) then we finally get on the waiting list (which is 25-27 months!).

We are feeling overwhelmed with all the paperwork but we know when we are finished, and all we have to do is wait, we will be dying to be able to do something to stay busy again. We've been receiving some cards and gifts already - thank you so much everyone!
